Call for Papers
(now peer-reviewed extended abstracts, for inclusion in Convention Proceedings CD)

PSBMB members and interested participants are invited to send in their papers for oral or poster presentations. Papers must contain new data that has not been presented in any scientific conference in the Philippines.

Participants are invited to submit papers for oral and poster presentation. The extended abstract should be formatted according to the following guidelines (also see template in MS Word or Rich Text Format):
 

  • MS Word (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) written in English on an 8.5"x11" template with 1" margin on all sides
     

  • Text should be12-point Times New Roman, singly-spaced and justified paragraphs
     

  • Title of the paper in boldfaced capital letters and centered
     

  • Name of the author(s) centered and two-line spaces from the title; presenter’s name should be underlined
     

  • Author(s) affiliation are centered and one line space from the name of the author(s)
     

  • No more than four pages including figures, tables, and references. Please see the website for a template for the extended abstract.
     

Send extended abstracts via email as Word document, RTF, or text attachments not later than 30 15 September 2006 by email, CD, or diskette to:

Authors of accepted papers will be notified not later than 15 October 2006. Only papers of authors who register by 31 October 2006 will be included in the program and proceedings.

 

 

Young Scientists' Forum (YSF)

The Young Scientists’ Forum (YSF) was established in 1995 as a competition for outstanding undergraduate student research work. Interested participants are requested to send their abstracts for inclusion to the forum. (See call for papers above) Please indicate if the abstract is for the YSF. Extended to 30 September 2006.)

 

 

About the Host


 

The West Visayas State University is a premier institution of higher learning in Western Visayas Region of the Philippines. Its character dictates the advancement of knowledge through instruction, research, extension, and production. It enjoys Level IV recognition among State Universities and Colleges in the Philippines.

It has 67 programs offered in the baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate levels in its main campus and four external campuses. Among its programs, eight are awaiting Level III Accreditation; four has Level II Accreditation while the rest preparing for Level I accreditation visits by the Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).

Payment should be done in cash or by check addressed to PSBMB through the secretariat or via the Bank of the Philippine Islands (Account No. 3080-0037-48, BPI Loyola-Katipunan Branch, Quezon City). All early bird registrants must submit the completed registration form and a copy of the deposit slip to the Secretariat on or before 31 October 2006. Fax or electronic copies are acceptable for pre-registration, but the original deposit slip should be submitted at the registration desk on the day of the convention.
