The Philippine Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (PSBMB) and the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) of Academia Sinica are now officially in a harmonious relationship to create mutual development of programs for students, faculty members, and other members of PSBMB, after they signed a memorandum of agreement on Tuesday morning, December 6, 2016 at the PICC during the 2nd day of the PSBMB 2016 Convention.
The collaboration aims to encourage and promote an exchange of programs, experiences, skills, techniques, information, and knowledge to its members through IMB's Summer Intern Fellowship, Visiting Professors, and Joint Masters Research Program.
The signing was attended by Dr. Mudjekeewis Santos of PSBMB, Chair of the Society's Young Scientists' Forum, Dr. Yi-Fang Tsay of Academia Sinica and Dr. Apolinario Yambot, PSBMB President.
The signing of the agreement opened opportunities to the members especially the winners of the annual competition for undergraduate Filipinos, The Young Scientists' Forum, as it offers a 2 month internship in the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica for the First and Second Place of the said competition.
